Latest update: 31 October 2022
The Sanctuary of Padre Pio is a Christian pilgrimage site in the town of San Giovanni Rotondo in Puglia. Built in honour of the modern-day saint most commonly known as Padre Pio, the building designed by Italian architect Renzo Piano was opened in 2004.
With a huge capacity of up to 6,500 people, it's one of Italy's signature modern buildings, with some daring design features. |
