The coastal town of Manfredonia is located in the province of Foggia at the edge of the Gargano Peninsula. With a population of approximately 54,000, it is one of the largest cities in the region.

Manfredonia is most famous for its picturesque harbour, sandy beaches, and historic landmarks, including the Swabian Castle. The town also serves as a gateway to the Gargano National Park.
