The Castel del Monte is a castle situated close to the town of Andria in the Province of Barletta Andria Trani.
Built in the 13th century, the octagonal castle has been inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996, cited for its symbolic significance, geometry and adherence to astronomical theories. Of interest nearby are the Alta Murgia National Park and Bitonto. |
